Born in East Los Angeles, then migrating to La Puente (translated "The Bridge") California as a child, Jo Well grew up in the midst of the West Coast rap emergence. Aside from the obvious Hip Hop influence, he listened to an abundance of sounds. His parents introduced him to Motown Oldies, Classic Rock, Funk, and the Latin American sounds that root all music.

Right before High School he took guitar lessons for a year. Although he cannot play the instrument anymore, during that time he acquired the knowledge, of how different notes blend, that will stay with him his whole life. Writing had always been a passion for Jo Well, but it was during High School he discovered he had a niche from rhyming.

During weekly freestyle sessions he also developed a curiosity for djing which lead to him djing as a hobby. By this time it was clear to him that he wanted to pursue a career in music. Upon entering college he started up a band with childhood friends in which he sang backup vocals as well as producing background sounds with a turntable. He started playing shows at different venues around Southern California building experience on the stage.

Even though he was happy doing anything in music, he knew that he wanted, and had the ability, to do much more than just be in the background. It was then that he was asked to join another group, which ironically also had childhood friends. He became an Antidote ov Hip Hop and the chemistry he felt with his band-mates was incredible. He stopped making music with his original band and put his whole heart into the new group. To this day he continues to write, record, and perform, with his ultimate goal to expose not only his, but his group's music to the masses.
